Georgia, a small and beautiful Caucasian country at the intersection of western Asia and Europe, is one of the most ancient and fascinating countries in the world. So here are the few things which impressed me to think why every traveller should visit Georgia at least once.

Thinking about Georgia the first thing coming to the mind is its mind-boggling natural beauty. The countryside of Georgia is so picturesque and surreal. From the snow-capped peaks of caucus mountains in Kazbegi on the north to the forest and canyons around the Kutaisi region and natural therapeutic springs of Borjomi, Georgia’s geography and it’s scenery are so diverse.   The beautiful green blanketed mountains of Bakuriani and Gadauri during the spring season will become the most active ski resorts during the winter.

2. Visit Georgia for it’s History

Georgia was a connecting link between Europe and Asia and was a part of the famous silk route during ancient times. Numerous churches all along the country give an essence of art culture and Christianity of ancient Georgia. The capital city of Tbilisi itself holds centuries-old history to it while embracing all the changes of modernisation.

Georgia also has its name in the pages of history from it’s time of soviet rule and was the home of the famous soviet politician Joseph Stalin. Even though he didn’t have much love and affection towards his birthplace, his childhood home is being protected as a historic monument by the people and government of Georgia.

Georgia is exceptionally rich in architectural monuments and modern day architectural marvels. Medieval churches and forts in Georgia are very unique in the architecture style even though it has some influence of the Byzantine and Armenian architecture. Some extraordinary construction also happened in Georgia during the Soviet era like the Bank of Georgia Head quarters building. Modern day construction in Georgia are innovative with the adaptation of contemporary style to it and some of them become the landmark of Georgia to the world like the Peace Bridge, House of Justice, Rike concert hall, Ali and Nino statue in Batumi etc.
